Encoding from a File

If you already have audio files on your hard drive that you want to encode, simply click the "Open File" button, or select "Open File" from the File Menu. This will open a standard file opening dialog, and prompt you for a file to encode. Select the file you want, click "Open", and MPegger will encode it.

NOTE: MPegger can only encode AIFF, PCM, or Sound Designer II files.

Encoding from a CD

To begin encoding a track from a CD, click on the "Open CD..." button. The following window will appear.

1. CD information
This shows the artist, album, total tracks, and total playing time on the current CD.

2. Track selection
Use the checkmark boxes to select which tracks to encode. Check any tracks you wish to process, and click "Encode" when you're ready.

3. Find New CD
If you eject the CD from your CD-ROM drive and insert a new one, click this button to read the new CD and display the tracks on it.

4. Select All
Checks all tracks on the list for encoding.

5. Cancel
Closes the track selection window without encoding any tracks.

6. Encode
Tells MPegger to take any tracks you selected, extract them from the CD, and encode them. After CD tracks have been encoded, the file used to store the audio data is deleted to save disk space
